Alan and DavidBuddy Holly Holiday

01/04 Alan is just back from America where he and his wife Lindsay, drove 700 miles east from visiting family in Tucson Az, to Norman Petty's studio in Clovis, Nm. This is the studio where Buddy Holly recorded all his hits in the late 50's as well as the likes of Buddy Knox, Peanuts Wilson (no relation!) and Roy Orbison. The studio - which is no longer in use - amazingly still houses all the original equipment and is like a time capsule!

Whilst in Clovis Alan met up with David Bigham, bass vocalist and last surviving member of The Roses. David can be heard singing backing vocals on so many classic Holly and Orbison tracks as well as the material The Roses put out in their own right. Then it was on to Lubbock, Tx where respects were paid at Holly's grave as well as a trek around the city, finding all the historical Holly sites.
